The Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau is a not-for-profit tourism organization. Founded in 1990, its mission is to promote and encourage the development, in Hamilton County, of tourism, conventions, visitors, trade shows, festivals and other special events.

Located on the north side of Indianapolis, some of the state's most popular attractions call Hamilton County home. A living history museum, Conner Prairie attracts more than 340,000 visitors each year. Likewise, more than 500,000 people attend concerts at Verizon Wireless Music Center each year.

In addition, Hamilton County features championship golf courses, one-of-a-kind shops and unique eateries. And Hamilton County offers 25 hotels (potentially 32 by late 2012) with 2,415 rooms.

The CVB employs 7 people who work in administration, marketing, communications, sales and visitor services. Whether it's attracting visitors to the area for a golf package or a family fun package, working with sports tournaments or small meeting groups, the CVB helps our community.

By attracting visitors who spend money at community businesses, the CVB helps the county's quality of life. In fact, tourism brings $216 million in direct expenditures to Hamilton County each year. And tourism accounts for 4,599 jobs in Hamilton County.

The CVB also partners with nearly 170 tourism businesses through its partnership program.
